Consultant and Product Manager
Non-profit Website
An alliance between a health professional organization and their pharmaceutical partners had gathered a rich catalog of resources and guidance to help health systems improve the quality of care they provided to patients with heart arrhythmia conditions. As their consultant, I guided them through the process of working with a vendor partner to bring this catalog to life as an ever-growing digital resource hub and collaboration platform.
A diverse group of stakeholders needed to first align on a vision for this experience.
I facilitated a series of working sessions in which I helped them establish their goals for the website and the capabilities they needed.
I gathered best-in-class examples and a wide range of websites that demonstrated the possible ways their site could come to life.
As their consultant, I helped to draft and refine a request for proposal that articulated their vision for the website.
Serving as the alliance’s product manager, I guided the delivery team through the design and build of the first phase of the website.
I was the primary channel through which the client’s requirements were gathered, refined, and communicated to the vendor team.
My expertise in user experience allowed me to give valuable feedback on the proposed structure and design.
I collaborated with the writers and content managers to prepare everything that was needed for the initial launch of the site.
After launching phase one of the site, we immediately undertook the work of a second, larger phase.
The relationships formed during the website project allowed us to approach the more challenging second phase with trust and mutual respect.
Having learned about the strengths and weaknesses of the vendor partner, I refined our requirements and collaboration processes to increase clarity, transparency, and accountability.
The phase two work is ongoing currently, and I am advising the client in a consultative role.
